Deregistering an Employee and Ending Employment
Biro Vision manages the entire process of ending employment, from preparing the paperwork and calculating final salary and compensation for unused annual leave to deregistering the employee from mandatory social insurance through the CROSO portal on time.
Ending employment is a moment where labor law, tax obligations and strict deadlines intersect, so even a small mistake can lead to costs or a labor inspection. Whether it concerns the expiry of a fixed-term contract, a termination by agreement or a dismissal, the employer must prepare correct decisions and certificates, calculate everything the employee is entitled to and deregister them from insurance on time. Deregistration from mandatory social insurance is done electronically through the CROSO portal within the legally prescribed deadline. In this guide we explain the basic ways employment can end and what Biro Vision does for you in each of them.
What you should know
- When a fixed-term employment contract expires, employment ends simply by the lapse of the term, without the need for a dismissal, but a decision on termination is still issued and the employee is deregistered.
- Termination by agreement requires a written agreement between the employer and the employee; before signing, the employer must inform the employee in writing about the consequences for exercising rights with the National Employment Service.
- For a dismissal by the employer there must be a legally prescribed reason (for example, the work is no longer needed, failure to meet work results, or a breach of work duty), with the prescribed procedure carried out and the employee's right to respond respected.
- On every termination of employment the employee receives a final settlement: salary for the period worked, compensation for unused annual leave and, where the law provides for it, severance pay, as a rule no later than 30 days from the date of termination.
- Deregistration from mandatory social insurance is submitted electronically through the CROSO portal, on the unified application (M-form), no later than three working days from the date employment ends.
- On the final day of employment the employee is issued the prescribed documents, including the decision on termination and a certificate on the type and duration of employment, which they need to exercise further rights.
How we handle it
- 01 We analyze the basis for termination We determine the legal basis on which employment ends (expiry of the term, agreement or dismissal) and check whether all conditions are met and procedures followed.
- 02 We prepare the documentation We draft the decision on termination of employment, the agreement or other required documents, as well as the certificates issued to the employee on the final day.
- 03 We calculate the final payment We calculate salary for the period worked, compensation for unused annual leave and, where applicable, severance pay, together with all related taxes and contributions.
- 04 We deregister the employee via CROSO We electronically submit the deregistration from mandatory social insurance through the CROSO portal within the legal deadline, closing the employee's insurance.
- 05 We file and report to the Tax Administration We submit the PPP-PD tax return for the final settlement paid and reconcile records with the Tax Administration.
- 06 We hand over documents and keep records We hand you the complete set of documents for the employee and archive the records, so you are ready for any labor inspection.
